The SRCHA hosts 9-10 NRCHA/SRCHA/AQHA approved shows a year, and boasts 300 members. As as the fastest growing affiliate of the NRCHA, they uphold the standard rules for hosting and judging reined cow horse competitions. Within the 14 classes offered, participates compete for trophies, beautiful sterling silver buckles, coats and jackets, trophy tack, added money and more. The SRCHA encourages members to participate in reined cow horse events, they also promote the sport as a whole.
The SRCHA is open to all breeds of horses and a wide variety of riders, they also offer limited classes that require the rider to “box” the cow at the end of the arena. While the SRCHA is based in the heart of horse country, they have members spread across the country including top trainers and grass roots participants.
The Pre-Futurity taking place August 12-18 offers fresh cattle practice as well as a pre-work before the Open Futurity. Most horses that are here are aiming for the big futurity in October will be here to get a feel for Will Rogers as well as get a run under their belt before the big day.
