Part 1   Shawn shows you how to track a cow down the fence when teaching your horse about rate. The most important part about teaching rate is to stay behind the cow and to eventually be able to make it your idea to push past the cow. Not the horse’s idea! Shawn shows you how he gets to the hip of the cow and then slows down to a trot to help teach rate. He also explains why it’s so important to complete your stop and get to the bottom of it first and not be in a hurry to keep traveling with the cow at this stage of their training.
