Brandon Buttars grew up ranching, riding races horse’s and rodeoing in High school winning the 1989 Utah State Championship Bull riding title.  In 1988 Jack Forsberg from Garland Utah introduced Brandon to cow horse’s whilst he was starting colts for Jack until 1990 and credits Jack for getting him started in the horse training business. Brandon competed in his first NRCHA futurity in 2000 and continues to raise cattle while training reined cow horses out of Snowville Utah. Brandon and his wife Sophia also became familiar face’s in the Down The Fence cow horse documentary.  Among the titles Buttars has earned, he and This Cats The Mark, owned by Lori Adamski Peek, took the National Stock Horse Association Open and Intermediate Open Derby titles and the NRCHA DT Horses Western Derby Intermediate Open Derby Champion spot. Brandon was a finalist in the 2024 Worlds Greatest Horseman final aboard Cuttin Wright Up, winning the cow work with a massive 227. Brandon and his children, Daxon and Texie, also compete in reined cow horse and rodeo events. Brandon is an NRCHA carded 2A judge and has more than $824,690 in NRCHA earnings.
