Preview: Great Exercise To Teach Your Horse To Draw Back Before The Turn

Lance Johnston shows you a great exercise he teaches his horses that helped him have more success in the herd work!

  • Part 1  Lance works a green bridle horse and he shows you how he wants his horses to draw back with their inside front foot first before they initiate the turn for the herd work. This exercise prevents his horses from jumping or blowing through the turn and helps slow a cow down through the middle of the turn because it isn’t so forward. He also explains how and why he works one cow at a time in the arena, to help his horses not be so tight and sticky on a cow, which can make them easier to show.
